Paxton Access Control Multi-site

The customer, a large organisation on their 20 building site, was in need of a centralised access control system that could provide remote access to contractors for emergency maintenance and also restrict access to specific areas of the site for certain personnel. After evaluating various solutions, the customer decided to implement Paxton Access Control.

The customer's buildings had a mix of keyed entry and basic electronic code entry access control. The current access control system did not provide full remote access capabilities. This resulted in a time-consuming process of physically granting access to contractors, who needed to attend to emergency maintenance tasks. The customer also needed a solution that could control access to different areas of the site for specific personnel.

Paxton Access Control was selected as the solution due to its feature-rich platform and ability to integrate with the customer's existing security infrastructure. Paxton Access Control provided remote access capabilities that allowed contractors to be granted access instantly, reducing response time and increasing efficiency. This solution also allows access to specific areas of the site to be restricted, providing the customer with greater control over their security infrastructure.

The Net 2 Paxton Access Control server was installed and configured to integrate with the customer's existing security infrastructure. The solution was easy to retrofit with old doors which had no access control. To keep the system on a budget, we only used the net2 wired door controllers which are wired. Magnetic sensors were placed in doors the customer wanted to know the status (open or closed) remotely.

The implementation of Paxton Access Control was a success and provided the customer with a centralized, feature-rich access control solution that integrated with their existing security infrastructure. The solution allowed emergency contractors to come on site at times that no administrator was present. The remote access capability allowed an administrator to unlock the correct doors from the comfort of their home increasing efficiency and reducing downtime. The customer was also able to restrict access to specific areas of the site for specific personnel, providing greater control over their security infrastructure. The customer was satisfied with the implementation of Paxton Access Control and has recommended it to others in need of a centralized access control solution.
